What do I need to make the Cuisine website work best?
The Cuisine site is designed to work on most PCs and Macs from Netscape 3 and up and Internet Explorer 4 and up. It is designed for screen resolutions of 800X600 pixels and above.

What does membership mean?
Register as a member on cuisine.co.nz, and you'll be able to receive our regular fortnightly newsletter updating you on all the latest news, recipes, competitions and giveaways. To take a look at an example, click here.

You'll also be able to use our cool favourites feature, where you can save your favourite recipes right here in a handy file on this site. For more about favourites, click here.

What does 'remember who I am' when using the login mean ?
When you register as a member with cuisine.co.nz you get certain special privileges to make using the site easier. For instance you have the use of favourites to allow you to store all the interesting items in an organised manner for easy reference. When shopping online with us, you will not need to enter you address everytime you make a purchase. And you will receive a regular newsletter by email updating you on all the latest food, wine and travel news and views.

For cuisine.co.nz to know who you are you must login. But by selecting the remember who I am option, the site will place a cookie on your computer which means when you return to cuisine.co.nz, from the same computer, the site will know who you are and offer the benefits of being a registered member straight away.

Favourites
The add to favourites allows you to save this article or recipe away for future reference. A great way to keep all you interesting recipes in one place.

Enlarge
The Enlarge icon allows you to display a larger image. Although this image may take a little bit of time to download, you get a much better look.

Print
The print option allows you print your favourite recipes. It will display the recipe in a format that is friendly to printers, you can then simply select File from the menu in the top left of the window. Then select the print menu.

How do I use the search in cuisine.co.nz ?
There are several search facilities available on the Cuisine site. To search the entire site, across all categories, visit our advanced search. This will allow you to search by keyword, author, date etc on all the content in the site, both current and archived.

If you'd like to know what's new on the site since the last time you visited, you can select the "show me new" option, which will list everything new that's been added to the site.

On most pages you'll see a search bar at the top of the page. To search for a single word just type in the word and press the go button. If you wish to look for a phrase like roast chicken, then enclose the phrase in ". (For example "roast chicken". )

If you want to look for a seafood restaurant in Wellington, you can enter seafood wellington. The search results will display any articles that contain the words seafood and wellington.
How does the advanced search work ?
The advanced search allows you to quickly search all of cuisine.co.nz, for the things you need.

Simply enter the keywords that you require, select the areas to search and optionally select an author and date then press the go button.

If you do not get any results, try reducing the number of search criteria that you use.
How can I search for recipes on the site?
The Cuisine site contains more than 1,000 recipes by our leading contributors, including Lauraine Jacobs, Ray McVinnie, Julie Le Clerc, Fiona Smith and Natalia Schamroth. The quickest way to search our recipe database is to enter a keyword - the name of the dish or the main ingredient - in the search box, featured in all pages of the Food section. If you can't find what you're looking for using this search, or for more specific results, go to our Advanced Search, where you can look for recipes by keyword, main ingredients, course, author and season.

If you're looking for inspiration, try our Meal Maker, where you can enter up to six ingredients you have available, and we'll offer you recipes containing those ingredients.
How do I search for a wine that is recommended by Cuisine?
Every wine featured on the site is recommended by Cuisine. To search specifically for a wine, visit the wine search. This will allow you to search all of the wines in our database. You can also search for New Zealand Wineries using this search. All of the above content can also be searched within their individual sections.
How can I find out what’s new on the site?
The Cuisine email list is a regular newsletter that we send out to everyone who opts to receive it. It contains updates on the website, what’s new, news and occasionally special offers from our partners, sponsors and advertisers. To subscribe to the newsletter, click here.
What do I do if I have problems?

How do I subscribe to Cuisine magazine?
You can purchase a subscription to Cuisine magazine and Cuisine Wine Country online, by visiting the subscriptions section, in About Us.
How can I get images from the Cuisine billboards?
Visit the Cuisine Gallery where our billboard images are stored. Simply select the size image you want and click on it. Then click on the image, and select ‘save as wallpaper’. Voila – a cool Cuisine poster will appear on your screen.
